How to request account deletion
Follow these steps to request that your account and associated data are deleted:
Step 1
Send a request from the email address linked to your OVCC account, or include the email/username you used to register.
Step 2
Email our support team at support@ovcc.africa and state that you want your OVCC account deleted.
Step 3
Verify your identity if we ask for additional confirmation to protect your account from unauthorised deletion.
Step 4
We will confirm once deletion is processed and explain any data that must be retained for legal, security, or operational reasons.
Data deleted
- Your account profile, including your name, email address, username, and password.
- Saved preferences, bookmarks, and in-app personalization linked to your account.
- Chat, messaging, and session data linked to your OVCC account, where deletion is technically possible.
Data retained
- Financial and transaction records required for accounting, tax, audit, or legal compliance.
- Abuse, security, and fraud-prevention logs needed to protect the platform and other users.
- Backups that may remain in secured systems for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
Retention period and processing time
After you submit a deletion request, we aim to process it within a reasonable time. Some records may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten. Records that are kept for legal, accounting, or security reasons are retained only for as long as required.
